Be Preventative. Be Prepared.

Good Choices Start with the Right Information

Which scenario appeals to your sense of good judgement? Yes, it’s hard to disagree in theory to a Preventative Maintenance Program for your equipment, but that tends to be a ‘hindsight is 20/20’ type perspective. The fact is, many clients choose to overlook

the obvious benefits. New equipment shouldn’t require such a crutch, some think. We’ve spent the budget, say others. We subscribe to a Reactive Maintenance program – which is a kinder way of saying we’ll deal with it when it’s a problem.

At Burlodge, we believe those potential issues can largely be avoided by enrolling in our Preventative Maintenance Program. Let us be clear: We stand by our equipment 100 percent. lt’s incredibly durable and reliable. Food service professionals appreciate that they work in a demanding environment and their equipment  is putto thetest every day. Our PM program helps you to reap the maximum benefit of your equipment investment

Cost

lt’s the number one concern for most operations, as tight budgets are the norm.

Concerning questions of ‘how much?’, we believe no one likes costly surprises – except the technicians who are called

in on short notice and charge overtime rates. A Preventative Maintenance program doesn’t necessarily eliminate these scenarios, but it certainly limits them from occurring. Perhaps you’re comfortable in managing those random ‘what if… ‘ situations. Wouldn’t you

be more comfortable knowing it’s all taken care of?

Safety

Safety is paramount in any operation. Equipment that is not working properly could potentially pose a hazard to staff or clients. Accidents that are avoidable should never be accidents in the first place.

Routine Service Makes Perfectly Good Sense

Think of it this way: Your health, your car, your home – you keep these parts of your life in working order by attending to them. You clean the eavestroughs, regularly get the oil changed and stay active. Yes, your own persona!

Preventative Maintenance Program. Your equipment is essentially no different. The following are a few key reasons to consider how a Preventative Maintenance Program is an advantage for any operation.

Functionality

Think that loose gasket is a miner annoyance more than potentially a major hassle?

That seemingly insignificant issue may compromise the holding temperature of your equipment. Then you have an issue with food quality. Then you have a further issue with patient satisfaction. See where this is going? Count that as one possible scenario. Keep your equipment running to its potential and you save in so many different ways (time, money, sanity, etc.)

Downtime

When there are clients to feed every day and some of your key equipment has been removed from the rotation, are you able to manage? What sort of tolerance does your operationpave if faced with waiting for equipment to undergo repairs? Lost productivity, temporary solutions, employee frustration – you can attach a cost to each of these when problems arise. A PM Program minimizes downtime

A Client’s Perspective

“lt helps to manage risk, increases life expectancy and improves the energy efficiency of  the  equipment.  If it’s properly maintained it helps for the quality of heating and cooling. lt also prevents those unexpected breakdowns. Plus, there’s no dispute on warranty issues because the service that’s been in place the whole time.”

Long Term Savings

What are your projections for equipment life cycle and how have you allotted your budget in accordance with those estimations? Are you able to secure a budget to purchase new equipment years before your intended upgrade? lnvesting in a PM program is wise asset management that accepts committing a little along the way will save a lot in the long run.
